Ok, so sometimes we all get a little confused about what folder do we put our work in, right? I know I do ^^;
So I’ve made these folder definitions to make everyone’s experience here much easier and hopefully everyone will read them :w00t:

Please read through all of these definitions to ensure that you put all works into their correct folders and to avoid gaining strikes against you

:star: Original Prose: Ok, so prose is basically normal stories written in ‘spoken language’, basic sentence after sentence. It’s what we read when we pick up a novel, say Harry Potter or Eragon. Original prose are stories that are %100 original ideas, characters, concepts and plot, all brand-spanking-new and shiny from the authors head :happybounce: . Now our Original Prose folder is for everything original and this includes short stories, chapter works, fantasy, science fiction (Sci-fi), humour and any PG 13 literature!
:bulletblue: This folder supports multiple chapter works!
:bulletblue: This folder does not support mature material :stinkeye: All Mature material must be submitted to the Mature folder!

:star: Poetry: So, if you’re confused about what poetry is, it’s pretty much short and simple lines with rhymes, so if you remember say Humpty Dumpty or Itsy Bitsy Spider these are classified as ‘Traditional Poetry’. Now, not all poetry is so simple and cute/childish (for lack of better words ^^; ) and if you have any confusion about whether it’s poetry or not, just ask our founder or co-founders for advice. :D
:bulletblue: This folder supports visual poetry and lyrics!

:star: Fan Fiction: Fan Fiction is one of the simplest to explain. If it contains characters/people from real life, TV (both Anime and others), Manga, Movies, Games etc., it’s a Fan Fiction. If it’s set in the same place, era/time, realm, world etc. it’s a Fan Fiction. Even if it’s your original characters (OC’s) in a time after/before the main story but has obvious and consistent links to the main story, it’s a Fan Fiction. A good example for the :above: is if you’re writing a story about the children of say the mane six from My Little Pony: Friendship is magic.
:bulletblue: This folder supports multiple chapter works!
:bulletblue: This folder supports mature material, but only with a clear warning and the correct filter applies

:thumb221256660: I just want to mention if you’re writing a story that was INSPIRED by a novel you read or a show you watched or anything like that, but has all ORIGINIAL characters, place, concepts, plot, themes etc., I, :iconviolet--nova: , personally consider that to be an original story. E.G. If you read Eragon and decide to write a dragon story with original characters, plot, themes, time, place etc., I’d say it’s an original story. But if you’re still worries just state in the description that it was inspired by……… (whatever) and give credit to the original writer/ creator.

:star: Mature: The Mature folder is for anything and everything that you wouldn’t let your kids read, ok? So horror, suspense, mystery, romance, rape etc. prose, it goes in this folder and it need to have the correct mature filters on! Otherwise it will be removed you will receive a strike.
:bulletblue: This folder supports multiple chapter works!

:star: Non-Fiction: The Non-Fiction folder is for all prose that’s taken from real life. So Journals, Diary entries (of real people), and historical events go in this folder. And just to make this clear, if you write something that’s set in the same time or set around the same events with a mix of original characters and real life people, it’s not Fan Fiction.
:bulletblue: A good example of this is Robert Harris’s novel Pompeii en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pompeii_…
If you write a history or a glossary or something like that for an original story or fan fiction, it belongs here with a link to the first chapter of the story.

:star: Character Profiles: Ok, so this folders is the only folder where you can post images, except for visual poetry which goes into the poetry folder ^^; So, you can post here any profiles or reference sheets for any of your original characters, both in literature and visual form.

:star: Critique & Feedback: If you submit to this folder, you’re basically asking for someone to come look at your work and tell you what they think about it :D Now, since this group, and DA in general doesn’t allow hateful comments and critiques we can almost %100 guarantee that any feedback given to you will be constructive, helpful and friendly. However, we all know that there are little bastards lurking around on the internet called Trolls. If one of these foul beasts makes an effort to flame you or your work, please contact an admin immediately and this person will be blocked and reported to DA.
:bulletblue: We love our writers and we try to protect them to the best of our admin-ly abilities
:bulletblue: This folder supports the submission of prose, poetry and Character Profiles (including visual reference sheets)

:star: Prompt Challenge: This folder is where you can find the winners of all previous Prompt Contests.

:star: Contest Entries: This folder is where you can find all entries for the current Prompt Challenge.

:star: Old Contest Entries: As the name implies, you can find all the entries of all previous Prompt Challenges.

Thank you for reading these definitions and I hope you found them helpful :tighthug:

Just to see that you people read this, I want everyone who reads this to post a comment and tell me what words you see in this (not the lyrics!) www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAp0xO…
