Contest Guide + The Feature Folder

Interested in entering one of our fine Prompt Challenges? Alright then! Let’s get you familiar with the rules!

Each month our group hosts a Prompt Challenge where a prompt, which will generally be a line, or a set of object or a scene, and the members, if they so choose, can enter a piece of writing on the set prompt and go in to win one of our three prises

So here’s how it goes:
The challenge begins on the first day of every month and runs for about 20-25 days. Then the entries close and the reviewing begins.
Members can vote on which entries they like by simply commenting ‘VOTE’ on the deviation. The entries with the highest votes will be reviewed by the admins and judged on the below criteria.
This process will take about 5 days and then the winners are released to be seen on the front page under the Info & Updates centre.

These types of entries are accepted:
Prose
Poetry (written and visual)
Fanfiction
Non-fiction
Mature , but, if your mature entry as excessive gore/violence/sex, it will be denied.

Character Profiles and images not classified as visual poetry are not accepted!

The below are the criteria that the admin will be judging the entries on:

Spelling & Grammar
Relevance to the prompt
Coherence
Development
Tastefulness (no over the top sex/gore scenes)

All members, contributors and admin can only enter ONCE! We have to make it fair for everyone


 The Feature Folder:

The Feature Folders is for the first chapters of any story your writing or any poetry you’re particularly proud of. All members are allowed ONE submission a week to the feature folder. Any more will be denied.
If the folder becomes too full, we will send you a message asking if you’re still working on the story and if you still want it there.
If you finish the story we encourage you to upload a master list for it and submit it into the feature folder in place of your chapter
